The Hip Hop Life and Its Past

The youth culture has a lot to do with the Hip Hop scene. It has been this way from the time when Rap was created. It has always been something that urban youth could relate their lives to. Beginning in Bronx, New York in 1974, the music has evolved into more than just a music genre. It has shaped a unique clothing style, a unique language full of slang, and its own inimitable portrayals of world issues. When it comes to music in general, this genre is most likely the most influential.
In the late 70s, Keith Wiggins said that the music genre was Hip Hop. He is accredited for naming the popular genre. He was a piece of the super group Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. This group was one of the first, and most worthy, groups in in the early years. The Sugar Hill Gang and The Sequence are two other incredibly notable early Hip Hop groups.
DJ Kool Herc, or Clive Campbell, is almost certainly the most significant innovator in the game. Most people believe that he created the music genre. He decided to go against the common music at the time and formed his own genre. It was originally fashioned by DJ's who fashioned a fusion of funk, rock, and Latin percussion in the background. This led to the creation of a new musical genre. DJ's are responsible for the establishment of the music with their use of turntables. Creating longer breaks and mixing songs collectively opened the door for more break dancing, another notable part of the lifestyle. DJ's and B-Boys were the first in the scene. After they began to get more popular, Emcees began joining with the DJ's and rapped over the mixes. Emcees renovated the genre and made it the crucial point of the youth in the upcoming decades. Lyrics began to get more expressive that the inner-city people could relate to. Rapping became a kind of poetry that is spoken with a particular rhythm, which is dictated by the beat.
Since its establishment, Hip Hop has evolved into something that is barely associated to the old style. Graffiti, break dancing, and DJ's aren't as important as they once used to be. It has constantly distorted to go along with the lifestyle in the city. As there lives change, the music changes along with them. Some people believe that the music has strayed too far and lost the valuable roots of the music. Other people believe that it has to change to adapt with the ever changing lifestyle of urban youth today. No matter what you think concerning Hip Hop, you have to acknowledge that it has changed the world.
